Hey guys.

I've been hearing a lot about table selection, but I'm still not sure exactly what I'm looking for when I begin my sessions. I'm told to look for the fishes (less than 50 BB) and to avoid regs (those over 300 BB) This is all I know so far? Are there any other things to consider?

Try to sit to the left of bad players with a high VPIP. Try to sit to the right of tight players who don't play many hands.

Make continuous use of the markup tool, so you can identify them every time you open the table before you sit down.

Methods for selecting tables for cash games

Hi friends!

How do you choose the cash tables?
Choose tables on VPIP, Average Pot, Players Seeing the Flop, and marks on the players.
Maybe you use the software for this, if so, which one?
I would like to hear your opinion. Thank you.

ALWAYS go to 9/10 man tables

Bigger tables means more free folding and ALSO means you have greater ability to let other players raise instead of you so that you have better judgement of others' hands without any proactive button clicking.

Ignore all this nonsense, sit anywhere on any 9-man table and play solid poker, watch your bankroll go up.

Tight is right, Aggro is the way of the pro.

A little bluff here or there doesn't hurt though, especially if the nits you are vs have made it obvious they are weak.

I don't have a specific method to be honest, I love playing 6 max tables when they're not full yet. I usually check to see VPIP and average pot, as I don't like it when the average pot is too big. This may sound weird but I feel like those tables are a bit too wild for my taste.

I do not know of any type of sofwar but play playing tables whose prize exceeds 50 times the amount invested is very attractive

There are some programs that can help in choosing.
For example - TableScan Turbo or Table Scanner from HM2

You should consider improving your game. From the way you are talking, right now you are the fish. Fish who don't know they are fish lose the most money at the tables.

Stack size doesnt always mean fish or shark. You need to add detailed notes to each player so you can scan the tables looking for the fish. Finding a table full of fish with large stacks should be your goal, no point playing a table of fish if they only have small stacks.

I just pick a table, play tight, replay some hands from my opponents, make notes and adapt my play.

Even though you're right on playstyle being really important, this thread is not nonsense imo. If careful table selection and putting yourself in position compared to the bigstack helps you get 1 or 2 bb/100hands extra, then thats still a win.
Why not carefully pick a seat AND play well? You should try to get every edge you can.

I mostly base it on wanting to be in a good spot relative to the big stack(s) at the table. Other than that, unless you have previous info on the opponents, it's kind of a crap shoot.

Maybe try watching a few hands before getting involved in the action. Look to see what cards get turned over and whether the players are playing tight, loose, bluffing or just going crazy and pushing all in every hand.

If you can work out who looks strong or weak it'll help you decide whether or not to sit at that table.

On another note, it can sometimes be off putting to see one very big stack at a table but that could mean all the others are fish and you too can take a bite out of them. Just maybe try to avoid getting into big pots with the big stack.

I sit to the left of players with high VPiP, and use Jivaro as my HUD.
