i've recently started using the HUD that carbon offers (ive never used one before so im not sure if its a respectable software or not, im still getting used to how to utilize the data i get from it effectively) and im trying to figure out exactly what i want my image to be like...ive always been cognizant about the fact that im a LAG player, and only recently have i overcome the bitterness of "suckouts" and accepted that the hands i complain about (a good amount of them at least) are my own doing...
basically, so far i have no reason to doubt my reads and my sheer ability to outplay someone postflop...im not saying im phil ivey or anything but i feel like i have a good understanding of how any given table is flowing and more often than not my plays work out despite the cards im holding...HOWEVER....looking at the data im seeing in my HUD stats, i really....really need to tighten up...i realize a lot of the things that bite me in the ass simply the result of me getting no respect because of my image...people overplay hands solely because they know im being laggy, and even tho im ahead at some point they catch the river and my head explodes...
i say that to say this: how would you suggest going from a LAG player to im not even sure what it would be called really, i guess just plain solid? like how to play a wider range of hands preflop (while maintaining a respectable vpip) and still be able to effectively outplay people postflop despite your image? should i just become tight as a rock for a long time and then surprise people wen i open up? or what? i've never really strategized my game like this, so forgive me if im not even asking the question properly...i'd really appreciate any insight tho, im really trying to get my game to another level right now and i feel like its getting better every day...sorry for the long ass post, my mind's just been on this all day...thank u if you read all this
