Recently making transition from tournament play to cash. Very successful in tourney play, will win 1st place 2/10 times and then cash 7/10 times playing tournaments. 100 plus players in these tournaments. Cash games I will go on great runs and really really bad runs. Feel like a fish lol, Have never really played cash before. Trying to make transition My 4 holes in my cash game.
1.What hands should be folded/called/limped/raised in the blinds? 2.Do you ever play 9/10 8/10, 6/7, 3/4, 5/6,6/8? If they are suited how does that effect your decision? Hands have caused me problems lol. A low x also troubling.
3. Low suited pairs 22-66 have also given me problems?
4. If you get A/8 sp. Do you always play hands like that in cash? Try to get the flush? I get the feeling that i'm playing to many hands in cash. Some days i'll dominate playing cash. Really have that feeling of people fearing me. Some days feels like i'm just bleeding chips.

Any comments are welcome! Thanks in advance! Great forum loving all the posts on this site!

Stakes, stack depths, position, and live reads are really important for hand selection preflop.
1: Typically in the blinds your range should be slightly wider in cases where you are getting an above average price, and potentially closing the action to see a flop. Good hands to play from here are suited connectors/suited aces where you are drawing to the nuts in multiway pots.
2: Yes, on a case by case basis, when stack depths and/or position are favorable
3:personally I like to raise with these hands for a raise when I think I can get the pot heads-up, as your opponent will miss the board more often than they hit and you have showdown value. Play for a limp/call when in a multiway pot where only set-mining value applies.
4: Again, better in multiway pots, likely to be dominated by a preflop raiser's range, but if you are in later position and seeing the flop for a great price, can be very profitable. Calling a raise from early position with a lot of players to act behind you tho, can result in a raise behind you, and you just punting off money.

Not always playing more hands is the most wins, you have to be selective with letters and press know when you have a good position in the table :icon_cat:

with your win rate in tournaments i would never think about switching to cash games. tournaments are preferable as the prize pool is bigger and if you say u do not cash once in ten times then you have a great ratio which in my opinion is enough.
on topic: afaik, in cash games you have to play tighter just because you don't have to think about your tournament life and the blinds are much smaller. i don't know how much tight, though.

Is it normal to sometimes play cash for hours and break even?

Position great stuff, the more I have been playing cash, the more important I realize how much more it means than a tournament

At cash games is better to stick to the tight agressive style of play and not play many hands especially of you are not in position When in position you can play more hands because you are the least to act and you can see the action how mush your opponents bet and value the situation

I play around 11% of hands in cash game. I personally think players that player 30% or more of their hands in NLH in cash games are throwing their EV away. Things get really complex and the likely hood of you getting caught with the worst of it is high.

Cash games are a whole different beast. Players can top off, buy back in, and generally in low stakes and under are a lot of calling stations. Expect to get drawn out on from time to time. (its poker)

Tourney players generally once their chips are gone so are they. Generally a little more guarded with their chips.

It is 2 different styles of play.

the blinds are also my least favorite place to be. Myself I also have problems with Ax in the sb bb and usually stay away from calling raises in this postions with those hands. Although it is worth a call preflop sometimes with A2,3,4,5 suited. 67 78 910 suited, I say is worth a call in the sb bb if there are at least two other players in the hand. If you flop a draw and check its usually likely it checks through since the raiser has more enemies out there. I would fold unsuited connectors more then call suited connectors for sure. suited will obviously be more playable post flop.

If you have a win ratio that good in tournaments why play cash? Usually less variance in cash games but with win rate of 2 out of 10 you should probably never play anything else. Save up a bigger bankroll , study, and move up in stakes

that's right
cash game is not for me
have to play too aggressively for real profit + sometimes fold 100s of hands
