So lately I've been doing fairly decent at stud hi/lo and just thought I'd post about the basic strategy I've been using and finding success when playing 0.04/0.08 stud hi/lo.
If I am dealt any two cards 8 and under I will call or check
If I am dealt three cards 8 and under and none of them are pairs (except ace) I raise and re-raise
If I get any three of a kind I raise and re-raise
Any pair 2 to 10 I will call or check
And pair j or higher with a 10 or higher I raise otherwise just check
Unless it's aces
That's pretty much the start of the hand

After the fourth card comes of by then I have:
2 pairs I raise or re-raise
Any three or four different cards 8 and under I raise or re-raise
Any pair of aces is raise and re-raise
Any three or four of a kind is raise and re-raise
Any run of four cards or four suited cards is raise re-raise
A run of three or suited three cards I call any or check
Any pair with any two cards I call or check
I will check anything else pretty much
I will call or check a gutshot straight

Fifth card :
Raise and re-raise any full house, straight, flush, three or four of a kind, any two pairs with queens or better as top pair any, four cards flush draw, any open ended straight draw, any four or five different cards 8 and under
I will check or fold three card flushes, straights, gutshots, any three under ten and small pairs
Fold anything else pretty much

Sixth card I only raise and re-raise made hands or low pot made hands
I probably call four card flush, open ended straights, two pairs if aces are one of them, and three of a kinds, and probably four card low pot draws
I check or fold anything else

Seventh card I only raise or re-raise made hands including low pot hands
Check or possibly call two pairs, three of a kinds and maybe top pairs
Otherwise fold

That's pretty much it but
VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER!!!!
Always keep an eye on what other people have for cards showing
There is an exception for every situation so be alert

HAVE FUN ABOVE ALL. AVOID TILT. AND MAKE MONEY!!!!

This is way too rigid. The value in stud is that you have so much more information available to you. This sort of strategy card is either not optimizing your winnings or possibly even hurting you.

I enjoy stud quite alot actually, but dont play it much because there isn't a ton of profit to be made in it, mostly because you cant play alot of tables and there isn't much in the way of game selection and stakes ect ect.

The good news is that the players in .04/.08 are pretty horrible. just remaining solid would probably show decent returns.
