In hold'em we have all had the experience of losing with a 'monster hand.'
Perhaps our nut flush ran into a full house or full house ran into a higher full house or quads.
Especially in the last two cases, this situation is not so uncommon, due to the 'shared' board cards - if there are three aces on the board that it is not inconceivable that our full house may not be the best hand.
In stud, this is not the case.
I was wondering if anyone could recall a strong hand that they witnessed that did not win at showdown. In particular, has someone ever lost a hand in stud with a boat or something stronger?
