re: Poker & Starting on pokerstars without depositing.
Myar, it's certainly not too hard to start a bankroll on Pokerstars without depositing. You will need some patience though.
- The first method would be to earn entrance to the Weekly Round 2 tournaments that are played every Sunday afternoon. You have to finish in the final 3 tables of the satellite tournaments in order to earn a ticket. This will take 4 to six hours to accomplish. The good thing is that you can enter tournaments of many types including Holdem, Stud, Omaha, Razz, and HORSE with all of the appropriate Hi/Lo and limit variations. Once you get into the Weekly Round 2, it's pretty easy to make the money. It's usually around the top 20% who make the money. If you're lucky/good enough to win one of these, you can expect to take home a nice chunk of cash.
- Another method is to enter the private freerolls that are offered by various forums and other entities. Cardschat does the occasional freeroll on Pokerstars. The good thing about these is if you make the money, you make the money. None of that moving on to the next level stuff. The drawback is that the level of play you will encounter is considerably higher.
- There are also freerolls offered by Pokerstars for various nationalities. Unfortunately for you, the US freerolls are rather unwieldy. But you have nothing but time to lose with them, and if you look at them as good practice, you're not even losing time.
Once you've gotten some cash in your account, it's up to you how you feel you can best build things up. I would suggest the micro limit ring tables as a good possibility. Another is the $0.10 buyin tournaments.
I don't think the $T really apply to your situation. These can only be won through satellite tournaments, which are usually real money or FPP buyins.
Hope this will help you get started and good luck.
