Move up when you have enough buy-ins for the next level

Micromachine answered your question. If you want to respect your bankroll you would not want to bring to the table ( tournament buy-in ) more than 3 percent of your maximum bankroll. It takes a lot of time at the begining, but its the safe way. You cant experience huge downswings doing this. Whats frustrating is that you have lets say 100 dollars and you play with 2 dollars on a cash table. Thats why I prefer SnG or "The bigger" tournaments on PS. They have cheap buyins and the prizes are worth enough to make a difference on your bankroll.

If the number of hands matter at this time I should be playing Phil Ivey, Isildur, Ziigmund, durrrr, etc. You need is money to play at higher stakes, not hands. If you are making enough money to support higher stakes then move it up and try your luck.
