This is a 25NL zone hand on ignition. Hence why there is no hud stats or notes on villain

H(9d9h) P(CO)

Pre:
Hero (25.00) raise .75, Villain(28.82) 3bet to 2.25 on BTN
Hero call

Pot-4.39

Flop: Jd Jc 3d
Checks through
(I dont see the point in betting as I will fold out all worst and only get action from better hands)

Turn: 7c
Hero check, villain bet 2.25, hero call
(I know I could be beat but I feel there are a lot of A/K hi and flush draws that will bet here after being checked to twice)
Pot-8.89

River: 8d
Hero check, Villain bet 4.25, hero fold

Disclaimer: I am unexperienced
I am calling this. The FD is most likely betting the flop I think. Jack is also betting the flop because of the potential FD. That flush hitting on the river gives him a nice spot to bluff. However there might be some boats in his range on this river I think.
I call like 50% of the time

I would have c-bet the flop for the very same reasons you gave for why you didn't bet. I think the c-bet is highly important especially in cash games.

Agreed. You could always cbet the flop to see where you're at. You also lose less hands this way as well.

not an expert, but if find myself typically loosing here.
I think it's because of poor betting, the villain gets a read on you that you don't have the nuts and exploits it.
Next time I'll try the cbet and the flop, as advised above
