Well I've been stuck at 10nl for a good 3 months now and roll has bopping up and down about breakeven. Well not really I have a 20BI EV (interestingly on the non-EV line i'm only down 12BI)downswing atm. Soulcrushing no doubt but I'm still fighting

Just curious though, when should one admit defeat and just stay at the last stake they can beat and be happy with whatever you can scrap from poker parttime? 2 years? 5 years?

Sometimes I worry if I have reached my limit due to plain lack of talent.

Analyze last 50k hands, draw conclusions, test in next 50k hands, repeat? Eventually you are bound to make some progress.

Take a break from poker completely for a few days or a week. Then go back to it. Sometimes you develop some small but ugly habits after playing consistently for awhile and you don't even realize it. A break can get rid of these habits or better yet gives you a fresh enough perspective to identify them when you get back to the table.

Hehe Actually only finished like 60k hands. plaaying about 2hours a day give or take if i'm not in a 24-hour shift at work

I definitely do understand variance may be just it here but weathering the storm is omg so much easier to preach than to actually do!

Was up 20 BI from when I started at one point now I'm actually nearly back to square one EV-wise.

Oh well, at least the rake back pretty much got me another 10 buy ins

took a day off from grinding for once. I actually forgot how's it like to not need to come back to grind every night after work

cheers cc
I will march on

I am in a 11BI downswing right now, but I do know where some of the leaks are and I suspect about a few more too. But my volume is massive compared to you (around 2k hands per day, meaning around triple your volume) so it is much wilder on a daily basis.

I am like 1-2 days away from 15% rakeback though, that will help.

BTW I run under EV for over 100k hands in 5NL, constantly. Then it all came back in like 45k hands.

Forget about AIEV, it's the easiest way.

Rodney, it's unlikely you've reached any limit. Just carry on being in learning mode and you will carry on improving. That's what I believe anyhoo.
