It's sick, sure, but I think that once players have played for a couple years and put in decent volume, they're sick of bad beat stories. If you're multitabling and putting in volume, bad beats come frequently. They're nothing special.

A bad habit of new players is that they won't stop talking about bad beats. There are a number of posters here who mainly post bad beats.

Sure, it sucks, but it's also standard.

fair point. to be honest tho its my first bad beat post. i just wanted to post it coz its sicker than most the bad beat stories ive seen lol there was a guy moaning the other day coz his QQ was beat my AK when he hit a K on the river lol

Ive taken a lot of advice from this site and replies are almost always constructive. Just fancied a bit of sympathy this time lol

its not that sick tho, money went in pre flop, so its just one of the run outs you were supposed to lose on, its not any sicker than a Qxxxx flop or a xxxxQ flop imo. if you think about it like that it becomes much easier to deal with.

No sympathy for a standard beat with less than 100bb where you won the side pot. Learn to forget quickly, it's as least as important as starting hand selection.

I had a guy yesterday tank call a 73 bb jam allin pre with Q9 offsuit he said later was a missclick/ hit the wrong button but cracked My KK pre flop hitting 4 card runner runner flush with his 9 :p

That is poker folks.

We actually should be happy when people call with crap like this, just unfortunate in the short mental time and don't let it affect your play.

Stay on that A game tip >>>

That's just the way that the cards fly sometimes. As suggested, best to shake it off. The next game is brand new.

And I also want to know why the hooks were in this hand ;/

Sometimes the made hands (post flop) are even worse. E.g. if you flop a set and villain goes crazy with TP and lousy kicker, you get your chips in with a fist pump. Then the mofo nails runner runner flush on ya. And you're like WTF just happened and you're out of the tournament.

My philosophy is just play freerolls for tourneys and then play cash for profits and build up pts so I can use the pts to play some SNGs.

It sucks but it happens. About 10 minutes ago I flopped top set and the other guy had 2nd set and he hit quads on the turn. Just have to take it in stride and not let it affect your decision making. You will get your fair share of suckouts along the way, it all evens out over time.

Standard bad beat?! If id have lost a race AA vs QQ then fine, but to flop an A and lose to runner runner Q is hardly standard lol

And i lost the side pot coz QQ was the bigger of the two stacks

You didn't get it in on the flop, you got it in pre, you were lucky to flop top set

Ace, do you know how likely you were to lose AA vs QQ all in pre flop? Knowing this might help you get past it.

losing AA to QQ wouldnt normally bother me. I lost AA to 77, 66 and 99 in the same night and its no biggy. This was just a bit of a sore one coz of the fact i flopped the ace and had it "locked down". i was hoping for no spade on the turn to avoid a sweat, a Q came down and i told my laptop "dont do it to me!!" But it did lol

If losing 70BB makes you feel so sick then you really got issues. I sometimes lose that much making downright stupid calls or firing off massive bluffs. If I lose that much with AA pre flop it has no effect on me since I made the right decision. Poker is not about winning hands its about making the right decisions.
