Hi,

I have started experimenting with full-ring PLO (hi only) at the smallest limits offered at my room(0.05/0.10). So far, after about 300 hands (horribly small sample size), I am down ~300BB. The game seems fun and I enjoy playing it, but if I cannot right this trend, I won't continue as there are more profitable opportunities in other games for me. My excel sheet where I track my data reveals I average a pre-flop fold percentage of 58%, which I suspect is the start of my problems, as I am probably playing too loose.

I believe the best place to start with improving is the beginning. What qualities make up a good starting Omaha hand. I know no hand is an absolute favorite preflop over any other, but what types of hands flop well?

A followup would be what qualifies as "flopped well" in Omaha, since this is different than NLHE (I'm more familiar with that game)?

Thank you Extremum. This video series is incredibly helpful. I can start incorporating this into my game and hopefully slow the rate of bleeding.

You're welcome, and good luck.

If you're into Omaha Hi/Lo (PLO8), this video is the quickest, most straightforward tutorial...

Also if you have holdem manager, the leak buster PLO hand chart is extremely good. It's free and done by one of the better PLO players out there.
