First question is this, did you 3bet for value or as a bluff?

He means did you 4 bet* for value or as a bluff. I would either call or fold, 4 betting just folds out all better hands and you have position so just call.

I would have just flatted the 3 bet.

He obviously has a big hand. A-Q is not one of my favorites.

if he obv has a big hand why are we flatting AQ?

we're IP but against a range that crushes us according to you lot.

its nitty but I prob fold until villain is shown to 3bet light vs LP opens.

I would still flat to see a flop IP.

He may have something like 10-10.

But if we just flat him, we do not give him the opportunity to 5 bet.

And the "he has a big hand" was results biased, because he 4 bet hero out of the BB.

Not knowing, and in real time, I am flatting 3 bet here to see a flop.

Just my opinion.

agree with 9k unless you know you can outplay him postflop. What do you do if you call and then miss the flop?

Calling the 3bet then folding the flop is a HUGE leak imo.

Yeah I meant 4bet, so, were you 4betting for value or as a bluff?

I never said I couldn't outplay him postflop. I am pretty confident of my postflop play. That's why I would flat call here.

Edit: It's just what I would do. I would be comfortable seeing how villain plays postflop, and perhaps floating if I think I can steal it on the turn or river.

I mean, personally if I knew more about villain, turning AQ into a bluff isn't the end of the world right? Or am I the only one here who 4bet bluffs? No, I didn't think so.

I just dislike 4b folding AQo, terrible at math but I swear we need like 33% or something to be B/E when we 4bet?

GTO aside, it can be useful as a bluff cos o the blockers.

do it with like AJ/A9 then.. obv Caff you know what you're doing but 4b folding AQ isn't really good for anyone blockers aside.

unless you give him a tight enough 5b range that 4b calling AQ isn't BE anymore

I'm specifically talking about instead of folding it.

flat > 4bet then.

don't think he folds better pre ever bar TT if he even 3bets that + we're IP + we keep his range wider + we have a skill adv?

Yeah tbh I probably flat too more often than not, esp if vilain is your standard 3bet happy face up reg. So in some cases my hole cards don't even matter lol

I'd flat AQs and plan to get fancy on a lot of flops. I don't hate 4-bet/f here.
