If you notice during table selection that certain players are fishy and others are stronger, would you rather sit with position over the fishy players to really take their money or would you rather have position over stronger players to have the advantage there?

Thats a tuff question. I rather have position on the fish because when going post flop they will be making alot of mistakes so you want to have an advantage by having postion on them.. Also fishes tend to be opening alot with rag hands so you can 3 bet in position

I will rather have position on strong player. Weak player will bluff a lot and/or call your bet with rags which is good even if you are out of position to them

I would rather have position over the stronger player. I don't mind playing out of position in live games in general. I can take advantage of weak players out of position.

I;d rather be in position against stronger players...every little bit helps. The week player will take care of themselves.

IMO definitely have position on the stronger players. If you know who the fish are and how they play then position shouldn't be a concern since you can outplay them.

I would rather have position on a strong player all day. You have to realise that a good strong player will also understand that you have position on him, and will adjust his game accordingly.

I think it really depends on how loose the good player(s) are pre-flop. If they are fairly tight, I wouldn't mind them on my left, because they won't be likely to get involved as often. Since the fish are going to be playing a ton of pots, it is better to have position on them, so we're playing a lot of pots in position against them. The cost of this is that we will be playing a few pots out of position against the tight/good player, but that's going to cost us less than we should expect to profit from the fish.

If, on the other hand, the good player is loose and is looking to get into lots of pots with the fish as often as possible, we don't want him on our left. We're going to be playing too many pots with them or facing 3-bet/4-bet squeezes when we try to get into pots with the fish. In that case, we try to play with position on the good player, but this will still reduce the number of pots we can play against the fish because he's coming in more often when the fish is already in.

When I an playing poker I look to win hands from worst players that I. Than a good ideia to find a sit on the left of a fish where you can isolate him with a 3bet when you got a good hand

Another good think to look for when picking up tables is put Loose players on your right and thight on your left. Why? To make your life simple, when 3beting the loose the tight wont be on your way

I agree, want the stronger player to my right. Not concern with position on the fish player.

I always want position on the stronger players. I can beat a fish out of position, but you need all the help you can get when playing against good players.

Agree with Aces here. It really depends on what kind of "shark" though. If he is a solid 3 bet/4 bet/5 bet reg maybe I'd prefer position on him but these kinds are rare in a live game. Most of the strong regs in my live game don't make many moves and are usually straight forward players.

Position doesn't matter with sharks in cash games. Sit anywhere. Only ever alter seating if there is a non-preflop LAG players.

What does this mean? A player who is simply loose passive preflop and only gets aggressive once the cards show down, being as close to directly clockwise from them is optimal as you can easily take chips from them. If they are LAG preflop then position again barely matters because you should be tight preflop regardless.

Disagree.Position does matter against sharks very much IMO. You'll likely get thrown away from a hand where you're leading by them because of positional play. Same thing when they know they are beat, they'll likely to step away.

I'd like to have sharks & regs to my right & loose recs to my left.

I already said to put the loose aggressives to the left. The sharks being after you doesn't mean much overall because if you play hands properly you can predict people instead of just reading reactively.
