I've played a few Sit and Gos recently where the following situation comes up:
3 players left...2 large stacks (~6000-7000) chips) and 1 short stack(<1000).
Blinds 100-200
I'm Dealt AQ on the button. I'm one of the 2 big stacks.
I bet 600
SB (short stack) comes over the top and raises all in to 800
BB (other big stack) calls.
I call.
Flop Q-J-6 rainbow.
SB is all-in already
BB checks
We?
In any other situation I raise it up about 3/4 pot, but what I've also considered is that if I check and keep the other big stack in I increase the chances of knocking out the short stack.
What I mean by that is, if the turn and river help the short stack somehow and he ends up beating my TPTK there is still a chance that the other big stack could knock him out, thereby guareteeing me at least 2nd place.
So sometimes there seems to be a mutual agreement between the big stacks to just check it down to the river and hope one of us knocks out the short stack.
Is this good strategy? Or should I be raising to get more action or a fold from the other big stack?
Thanks,
Toad
