Is it better to enter a game with the max buy in, and nothing else to have tempt u to rebuy and to come back another night, or is it better to get right back into it, reload for another max, and keep going.

this is talking in context of game with ~500$ max,

I don't play live but I would imagine it depends whether you are tilting or not, whether there are exploitable fish at the table, how drunk/tired you are and whether you can afford it.

If you are playing well, are rolled for the game, and you feel that its profitable then rebuy.

If you're not rolled for the game, you shouldn't be playing it in the first place unless its with money you've set aside to take a shot. But even when taking shots, I prefer doing so this 2 buyins, not just 1. A key reason is so that I can rebuy if I happen to lose one in a game I think is +EV.

IMHO you shouldn't play live with just 1 BI. You need to have at least 3 with you and you should top up anytime your stack drops under 90% of the max BI. For most $1/$2 & $2/$5 live cash games you want to have as close to a max stack as possible so you can profit the most from your big hands. If you don't have time to grind back after losing 1/4 or 1/2 a BI then don't sit down in the 1st place or cash out right then and go play Let It Ride :) The biggest money makers for a good cash player are the players that buy-in for less than max and only have an hour or 2 to play.

Once again Ar-J has the definitive answer. Buy in for max - Do you go home or rebuy when that's gone? Be prepared to rebuy - It just depends on that table. If Asshanders came in and paid you a visit and your head is still spinning and you are not sure what the hell happened - then get out of there. If you know you had them by the balls and can play circles around them outside of occasional bad beats (which apparently just happened) then go rebuy.
I am constantly assessing the table - "I can out play that guy, that guy and that guy. Him? I need to avoid as much as possible. The guy in the hat? That's where my money's coming from." You have to check your ego to do this. #1 leak is thinking you are better than you are. Assume those guys are at least as good until proven otherwise.
