Should limpers effect your ranges?

Like if I would normal raise late position with Q9s, it isn't a great hand but im in position. If there are say 2 limpers I would add a bb per limper. Is it still a good idea to do this with mediocre hands?

P.s. and what about raising from blinds when there are a few limpers?

No, limpers should Affect your ranges. You should loosen them up. Exploit limpers as much as you can, isolate them with a wide range and, if called, cbet the crap out of them. Say, if you have A2o on the HJ and would usually fold, as soon as you see limpers in front of you, you should add it to your raising range.

Limpers are uncomfortable with their hands, exploit them.

Ah i think ive been doing the opposite with limpers ive only been raising the Q9s hands on the button and CO with no limpers.... But what you say makes lots of sense, definitely gonna start opening up more! nice thread ryan, and im sure raising from the blinds isnt a good idea as your position is awful, of course if you have a great hand then you still would.

It does seem like a good idea, but if the limper is a calling station you're gonna put yourself in a hard spot with a mediocre hand, what if villain shoves?

Villain winds up playing OOP in a raised pot w/ a hand he didn't want to raise pre... he's the one in a tough spot.

If he shoves... we can always fold.

If he's a calling station you definitely want to isolate him, the only difference is you won't try to bluff him off his small pocket pair or ace-high after the flop with a c-bet. Instead, just get the free cards. When you hit the flop though... :)

I raise em usually light. But when they r utg in the micros I not sure what to do sometimes cuz it seems majority of time that's a sign they r gonna shove when they get raised. Especially if he's tight with a high preflop raise percentage. If its a loose fish its probably just he doesn't know what he's doing.

We're attacking limps to isolate "bad" players and play a pot in position. Loose/passive pre-flop players that fold frequently to cbets are prime pickins.

Sometimes we're stepping into a trap but it's not a scary one. If we've got crap, we muck it...

But the times we take down the pot pre, or OTF w/ a cbet, will more than make up for the times we have to surrender.

Yes I will raise MUCH wider with limpers already in the pot. I find it quite profitable to, rather than setmine (at the micros) raise it up with your small pocket pairs because you can very often pick up the pot without hitting, as if you were playing a much bigger hand.

The stress balls are small round balls filled with beads or other squeezable material that you can squeeze. The method may sound silly but many people swear by these stress relievers because the squeezing motion affects not only your hand

This may work online but we're going to look pretty awkward squeezing our balls every time we get min-raised in a live game.

If you raise and one or two of the limpers calls to see a flop and you cant get rid of them after the flop, gracefully leave your top pair be.
