Should I continue playing on a softer site to build my bankroll?

I've recently begun playing on 888 poker and the softness is amazing. Huge amounts of free money and I'm enjoying the huge winrate which is helping me build a healthy bankroll. Before learning much strategy, I found this site a lot harder and I do think playing on pokerstars has improved my game tremendously.

My question is, should I keep playing on a site with a higher winrate, or is it better in the long term to play with tougher players at a lower stake? Possibly mix between the two sites? My problem at the moment, is I notice myself occasionally playing sloppier due to weaker players. I'm worried my progress might stagnate if I play on a softer site.

In my opinion, you should only play on PokerStars, is the best.

Mix it up. If the fish want to give you money, take all they give, and do challenge yourself with some tougher competition. See what they're doing and incorporate that knowledge into your own game.

Unless you're beating the highest stakes games 888 can offer you I don't really see the problem. Whatever level competition you're looking to play against is going to be more lucrative on a softer site than a tougher one.

Poker is not about being the best. Poker is about making the most money. If that site gives you the best short and long term perspective for making long money I see no reason to play anywhere elae

I also use 888 and recently started playing the 5/10NL 6Max cash tables. It's free money, just take it.

Jreece..... Your decision will depend on what you want to achieve from poker. If it's a recreational thing and you just want to make relatively easy money and not become a poker billionaire, then stay where you are winning, just retain your focus and not get sloppy. If you want to develop something of a poker career, and risk more of your bankroll to do so, then you need to look to other sites and start mixing it up there. There are plenty of opportunities and offers around to entice you to various websites and also loads of reviews available so that you can assess and make up your own mind about where you want to play. There is a whole variety of players, tourneys and offers that you perhaps need to spend some time reviewing what you really want.

Good luck.

Never thought about this at the micros. Basically if 10nl at one site is the same competition as 5nl at another, it's worth playing the higher stake. Thanks guys. I think I'll mix it up a bit.

This, just build your roll and play higher on 888. If 100NL on 888 is comparable to the level of play of 25NL on stars. Then just play the higher stake on 888 if you have the roll for it.

If you're a winning or breakeven player on Stars, then I recommend playing there. It's very good for practice and you can get the most hands per hour and the most activity there.

However, if you're still a beginner or not a very confident player, I recommend 888 instead. The problem is that you run the risk of becoming sloppy because of the slow format and fishy players, but if you can stay disciplined, it's easy money there and you'll be able to play higher stakes games that you wouldn't normally be able to play on Stars (eg. 10NL on 888 is easier than 5NL on Stars).

Play on both so that you can see the difference between playing weak tables and tough tables.

From there, you can adapt and adjust to things thru experience.

Well SIR I don't think it's right to walk away from a great game/really bad players. What could be better than having a HUGE win rate & playing against soft players?

You said you are winning HUGE amounts of free money, why not just keep on doing that? It sounds like you found a goldmine & want to go somewhere else where it is harder to get the gold instead of staying at a honey hole for all the gold.

I understand the want/need for competition, but if you can regularly win on a site & are building a bankroll & moving up in stakes, HONESTLY SIR I don't know what could be better.

Just remember that no matter what the stakes & no matter what the competition you should always correctly.

I really like this advice. I think it is a good idea to play different types of opponents.

Strictly for micro stakes, I choose to play on stars.

Your average stars reg is going to crush an 888 player, when the volume dries up at the med stakes on 888, you'll switch to stars and get crushed.

Since micros is for improving I'd pick stars, I know we want to earn $, but strictly talking about improving as a player...

I would mix it up a bit too.
As long as your comfortable and confident with those tables, go for it.
