Been in a dry spell for a few weeks, but playing more disciplined and felt great during this session.

Zooming 10NL 6-max, playing well and up 130 BB. Then this hand plays out, and I am back down and tilted off a few more ending flat for the day.

No reads. I limped behind as I chose to try and outplay a fishy limper IP. Called the 3bet due to implied odds & position and squeeze from villain.

On turn, obv putting villain on overpair or strong set, despite his checking flop with apparent FD.

But how annoying is this?! I can't get any breaks what so ever.

1) Don't limp and especially limpcall with garbage
2) This is why we look at EV line ;)

1) You see it's a 3-way flop and that I didn't open limp? I know what you are saying but am experimenting vs fish as many call to much and instead of losing the 3bet, cbet and have to check down from turn and losing a bigger pot vs a middle pair. Normally I would just fold pre, but sometimes 3b and on occasion just limp behind, as this example. Works well vs right villain.

I never open limp fwiw.

In hindsight I can find a fold to the 3b/squeeze, but with EP limping fish in pot I wanted to see a flop.

You say you were playing more disciplined and felt great? 910o facing the raise to 0.50 is a straight forward disciplined laydown.

Easy fold pre

Thanks, not sure I totally agree though and let me explain.

With massive implieds vs an EP fish limper, I do think I can play 9To profitably OTB. But I would say that I fold 9To 90% of the time, 3-bet 5% of the time (vs bad LAGS or fit/fold type players), and call 5% of the time.

I do agree that the 3bet-call pre is kind of meh, but was persuaded to call by a possible squeeze with a weak hand from the SB, plus a fish in the pot and I have position on them both.

Just to be clear, if the fish had open raised I would have folded.

And by disciplined I see what you mean, but I was actually mostly referring to postflop vs these zoom-nits. Preflop I am opening up my range significantly vs a lot of zoom players, 95% of the time with a raise - this was an exception.

Would love to hear comments on postflop play, fwiw I think I played it perfectly and can still not even begin to understand how he can call my turn AI.

Postflop is OK vs these people, I would actually expect calls from flush draws a lot.

Preflop is still horrible. There is no need to play this hand, period. Also you play according to a crapload of assumptions and "assumption is the mother of all ****ups".

I like the way you played the hand, sir. I would play it exactly the same way, sometimes we can afford playing such hands, and winning big pots even against premium hands, i like that, i dislike the way the fish called the turn it was such a crazy call for his air hand... alwfull bad beat, really unlucky, i feel ya, yesterday i lost 100$ pot vs fish when he hit trips on flop, calling my 5bet preflop with pair 3's .....
