So, just now it has dawned on me that I do not hesitate whatsoever to join a online poker table. My only criteria is the average pot size, on pokerstars that's all I look at because I tend to like to join the tables that have the most action...... I'm wondering if I should open the tables analyze and watch the play for a bit then I join, even f it means that i'll have to wait in line, this could possibly be more advantageous to me.... heard there are softwares out there that scans and preselect tables to ones advantageous but unfortunately I don't use any form of computer aided HUD's or other so that's not an option for me......... Oh there is also one other thing that I look for when selecting table, I quickly look at the countries that the players are from because I don't really like to play with too many players from a particular country on the same table *cough>>RUSSIA*.............Anyways, i'm curious do you guys specialize in table selection or do you just blindly sit at any?

Certainly better selektion game with a table. This increases your chances of winning. Better to spend a little more time but more money.

Good question it's funny I was just thinking about table selection this morning and how to do it better.

And what is it with the Russians and other Baltic states? Way different style of play.

They are super aggressive......when they have Ace Rags (A2 A6 etc etc) they play it like its is pocket aces which I would be thrilled about but i'm not because they get so darn lucky lol

True I guess if one can resist the impulse to just dive in and gamble :)

That's being pretty short sighted. Against such players you can easily shove AK and AQ for easy money in the long run.

Against someone who over plays Ax hands it just means your KK will lose a lil more than what you are used to but it is still big money in the long run.

I love aggressive fish and it's to the point that I find playing on a table full of regs rather intimidating and boring. The only time aggressive fish can cause you real trouble is when they are sitting to your left. That sort of situation requires a whole new style of play.

I actually kinda like aggressive fishes to my left because I think best way to deal with them is to trap them. What better way when you gotta act first with a monster and you just check it to them and let them hang themselves.

Ya that can be good with fish that love to bet bet and bet but not all fish are like that and playing a top pair kinda hand is really difficult in that spot.
