I just don't know how to play this format, apparently. I do very, very well at 6-max cash games, but I sit at 6-max Rush and it's terrible.
I did extremely well my first day and then after that I just get steamrolled. People talk about stealing and 3-betting people and being totally positional but it all just seems like total BS because if I don't have the nuts, I'm not winning a hand...everyone is just fold, fold, fold until they have a premium hand, so yeah. I steal a blind here or there but it's quickly lost when people shove all in, or half their stack and you know they have it because...why wouldn't they?
Every session since my first day has followed the same pattern. Unless I'm holding a big pocket pair or I get lucky and flop a monster hand, it's hopless. Any caller at all means I'm facing some monster. It's like someone said above, it feels like a lottery. Or more precisely, a slot machine.
I've lost 2 buy-ins already today to huge coolers. TT, JJ, QQ, all just aren't good enough unless you're lucky and hit a set. Connectors aren't good enough unless you're at a table where no one is sitting on their monster. I just can't find a profitable way to play this format other than waiting on AA or praying to see a cheap flop with a pocket pair and hitting a set. That's the only reason I got lucky and won the first day I played, I hit a few draws against the local, "I got my aces." guy.
It just feels like a terrible format and a rake-producing gimmick.
