I wonder, could yo say there is a general bet sizing on the river for a certain type of player on a certain type of board? I know the answer to any and every poker question is "it depends", but could you say for instance, for an aggressive player a slightly over pot bet on a scary 3 tone river is often a bluff? Or a 1/3 pot size bet by a good player on a heavy draw board river is a value bet? Or perhaps a shove way over the pot on a 'missed draw' river by a 70/40 fish with a 30-40% river aggression is often a bluff?

Please share your ideas.

5NL and under:
Large bet on the scary board is nuts, small bet on the scary board is nuts or relative weakish made hand.

Nobody really shoves river anymore with missed draw, the line is mostly bet-bet-check even from semi aggressive players.

Generally speaking river bets are strong, large river bets are even stronger.

I agree with Braves, an overbet on the river is usually a value bet. When it comes to good players and 1/3 pot bets.. if they are actually good it could be either or, as they should be sometimes doing it with weak and sometimes with good holdings.

Then i assume it wise to adjust to their (river) aggressiveness? Calling down more often when their aggression is higher..

What about the mid stakes, let's say 100NL, are there any significant river betting differences? Or does what applies to fish at lower levels to fish at those levels, and do good players play river bets equally at both levels? ( I play 10NL and have played a ton of micros)

Not really sure tbh as I don't play 100nl. I'd imagine it could apply to some, but you'd have to get some other people's advice. Pretty much what I was trying to say is, thar if they are good, they aren't always going to do something one way.
