Regular SnG or Turbo SnG?

I play alot of single table SnGs. I tend to gravitate towards the regular blind structure as opposed to the turbo. I think that the "cream" will tend to rise to the top if more hands are played per event. Maybe in turbos the increase in total events per hour will override the decrease in ROI. What do you think about this? How about multi-table SnGs?

I like multi table SnGs. I agree with you about the regular blinds vs. turbo. I don't like turbo very much because it seems like people play stupid hands even more than with regular. The only advantage to turbo is that the tourneys don't last as long!

It works differently for each player, depending on what your strengths are. Your $/hr figures at each game are what should decide it for you though.

I've gradually abandoned the turbo games. I can adapt to the speed, but I think it takes a lot of the play out of the game.

As for single vs multi-table, I like both. I generally alternate now between the 1-table games and the 5-table games. The STTs are quick, and it doesn't take long to find out your win-rate. The 5-tables have much higher variance, but that occasional win really pads the BR.

If I have time, I prefer a 5 or 10-table mtt. But it turns out I play mostly stt because they will be done in 90 min or so.

I don't mind the turbos but prefer standard timing of the blind structure. As noted above, you have a chance at more hands and aren't forced to play lower-quality hands so early in the tourney -- you can just do that to can pull down a few blinds every now and then.

I have found I really like the Bounty SNG's at PokerNordica -- they have stt and mtt -- most sites seem to only have mtt bounty/sniper/KO tourneys. And generally I think your ROI is better on bounty tourneys because if you make it to the money, you've probably knocked out one or more players and have their bounty.

I prefer multi table sng's myself with regular blinds. Turbo makes it harder to be patient, doesn't suit my style as well.

Turbos eventually turn into a shovefest because of the structure, I do not like them. Unless it's a heads up sng, then it's fine.

I think if you're a patient player, the STT or 2 table (non turbos) are much better. I really think you need a good run of cards to do well in the turbos.

I haven't played SNGs in a few months, but when I do I definitely prefer regular pacing. Just get a better feel for the table and it feels more enjoyable to me. The turbos really help sharpen your aggression however. I would do them occassionally when I need to sharpen up my aggression.

I like h2h or 6 plyr stt sng's that are turbos. any 9-plyr or mtt sng's need to be regular. I find at the 6-plyr stt sng's people seemed rushed and knock them selves out so it gets down to 3 or 4 plyrs relatively quickly. I plan on being one of them ;)
