I pretty much adjust range per position, if were raising limpers SB BB you usually get a few callers, we are going to miss the flop to often and make a loss we cant make accurate decisions on opponents range. Its also dangerous playing spec hands because to many players are drawn in by draws.
If we look at win ratio based on position we should find that most profit is made on the button then hi jack, cut off and so forth and in almost all cases losses are made from big and small blind, (this is ofcourse for a consistant winner over a long period) But it proves just how serious the context of range should be taken
I only raise Strong Card when I have a lot of limps. AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 10, AK, AQ The other pockets i will call and try get set.
I raise always 3bb + 1bb for each limp.
Example blinds 50/100; 5 people limps i will raise 300+500=800(if it is more than 30% of my stack I go all-in)
if the table is mostly loose aggresive you should be very careful because if there are three limpers ready to see the flop the can hit and put you in a tough decision (they can get a draw flush or a draw straight)
if they table is tight passive you can raise 4-7 BB to fold most of them, maybe all,
pay attention when nobody limps and just one of the latest calls specially if he is a good player he could be hiding some mounster hand and is just waiting for you to make a false step
Why? Ask yourself, why?I hate acting first.
JJ or high raise 4-5bb from blinds, AJs+ raise 3 bb, pairs like 88,99,10 call, other fold , I guess
