No problem good question probably should have expanded a bit on that. Here's a typical HH question I see often:
Hero has 6s7s
Villain raises preflop, we 3-bet oop villain calls.
We bet, villain calls
We bet villain calls
is this a good bluff?
Now this is a perfectly valid question/HH, it's the approach to solving it that's important. We're assuming btw that villain is competent and/or we don't know his tendencies. Obviously if he's someone who loves floating flop/turn and folding river we can just barrel this river 100%.
So instead of just deciding whether to shove or ch/f here what I'm claiming we should do is to try to come up with an overall gameplan and then do w/e this hand fills in for the strategy we've come up with. Let's figure out how many value combos we have here. Let's figure out how many bluff combos we show up with here. Let's figure out what % of the time we want to be bluffing. Now let's rank our bluffs. Equity-wise all hands basically have 0 equity so let's order them strictly by blockers. If blockers aren't an issue sometimes we can literally just try to flip a virtual coin in our head. This can get hard though because we are more likely to bluff when we're running bad/frustrated which is mostly when our image is bad/when we're more likely to get called, so we really do want to try to order it some objective way. If we can't just use the second hand on a clock or something similar.
Anyway I don't want to actually do that problem right now but I'm assuming we should probably not bluff with this particular hand because (assuming we 3b a decent amount and are cbetting a decent amount on this flop) we actually have a ton of bluffs and our hand has 0 blockers. I'm assuming we should be bluffing mostly missed clubs, and that even bluffing 100% of our missed clubs will give us too many bluffs.
Also note that as I mentioned we're just talking about playing against decent adjusting players. If you're playing against someone who never folds or against someone who never puts all his money in without the nuts doing this is just going to wasting a ton of time and only burning money. But HHs against those types of players aren't that interesting anyway so doubt those get posted ever.
edit: I'm dumb there's no flush so we don't block flushes at all I guess hands with broadway cards without clubs (so we don't block them having a FD) should be our bluffs then
