\I play tight but i want to have a loose playing image but still maintain my tight playing style . how can I do that without being overly loose. Once I am loose it is hard for me to going back to playing tight. then i get on tilt mode.

switching gears

what you are trying to do is what is called switching gears, it is pretty much a must if you sit with the same people or you are late in a tourney and people have kinda got a Idea how you play.

really you dont want people to think differently though, they have this image of you and then you can "change gears" and play a little looser to pick up some money or blinds. So just change the way you play start raising from early position with weak hands like KQ and KJ and QJ etc. Until they start playing back at you then switch again to tight or if you showdown a bad hand you would have to then also switch.

the goal here is not to be readable. This is not a easy thing to do and if you are playing a tight aggressive game then keep it. TAG play is the easiest style to play and it is profitable over time. LAG style is not easy to play and it makes good money but also it is very up and down or what we call high variance. If you are new I suggest you stick to Tag style right now in all cash games.

in tourney play well that is a whole different ball game and alot of it depends on certain stuff like blinds/stack sizes.

keep in mind switching gears is useless against bad opponents.

Do something crazy a la Caro-- twitch oddly every time you win a pot or something... people confuse "personality" with playing. Or just be loud and/or attention getting in some way (but be nice!).

Also, I said it before elsewhere, but aggression is often mistaken for loose play. For a fishdonk a raise is so rare that it calls more heavily weighted attention to it than should otherwise be given. People will "notice" the few hands you do play a lot more if you play them aggressively, and often incorrectly conclude that you are playing a lot of hands. I get this a lot playing low limit live games. The best of all worlds.

you can also do attention getting moves like straddling & blind raising a few times.
