Christ on a cracker there is some awful advice in this thread.
Typically, villains will raise with a wider range from the button to include
QT+, 99+, Ax+, K9+
QQ crushes this raise.
Winning poker is all about getting lessor
hands to call than what they are worth as well as getting more money in the pot while you have an
equity advantage.
Raising with QQ in this spot is completely 100% standard, the only question is, how much should we raise?
Whenever you bet or raise you NEVER want to bet such that a lessor hand can not call. Shoving all-in with QQ here is a mistake UNLESS we know villain is a spewtard that will call us with any pair (putting us on AK) or will call with AK/AQ and KQ type hands. If this is villain than by all means we should shove. However, if our villain has half a brain and will fold his weaker range to a shove then we just want to bet what we think he will call. So standard would be to raise him 3x to 4x his bet or whatever we noticed he will call. If we know he will call 5x or 8x his bet then that is what we bet.
