I have been playing with Poker Stove out of boredom (pathetic I know :D).

Anyway:

1) AA vs KK = 81.946%

2) AA vs 88 = 80.462%

3) AA vs 22 = 82.217%

I don't understand why 22 has less equity than KK?

I figured it has to be the other way around since 9TJQK boards give A the nuts and 24567 boards give 2 the nuts and other than that everything else is the same as far as opposing AA goes.

What am I missing?

equity problem

The exact equity varies depending on the suit of the cards, ie any made flushes are dominated.
Ad Ah V Kd Kh 82,64% v 2d 2h 82.89%
Ad Ah v Kd Kc 81.95%
Ad Ah v Kc Ks 81.26%
Even if you hit a 2 then your set could still get forfeited by three of a kind appearing on board eg flop 277J7, when the aces would win. 777AA
If K77J7, kings win KKK77 v 777AA:)

In my humble opinion ... I have no idea :) I think again that no percentage is incorrect
... can not wait to see someone, with knowledge and clarify this, the equation

Figaroo already nailed it.

I was discussing this topic a bit recently in a different thread here. Against AA, 22 is the worst underpair and KK is the 2nd worst. The best underpair is 66, followed by 88, 77, and TT in that order. I also mentioned that 52o is more likely to beat 77 than either 42o or 62o.

part of it is that the presence of a K gives A high a chance to make a st8 some small % of the time and lets say some % a 3rd A comes there are times a 2 can complete the st8

also use monte carlo if you used enumirated it will average out a lot better if you let it run for a minute or so
