I have 2 hands that I would like to share as I have seen a few threads with questions on how to act both pre and post flop.

1st - (.01/.02) I am sitting in 3rd pos and get dealt AKo and raise to .06. The SB 3 bets to .18 and the BB 4 bets allin. I fold and the SB calls and shows KQs and the BB shows 99 SB won with 2pair K's and Q's. Good fold?

2nd- (.01/.02) I am sitting in 4th pos and get AKo and raise to .06. 5th pos calls as does the SB. Flop comes 8s 4h 3s and I bet .16 and they all fold. Was I being to aggressive or did I make the correct bet?

You just need to look at stats and start making judgements.

Getting no action means 2 things.

1. Your way too tight (Nit)
2. Opponents actually have SFA

With no stats to go by, and no info on your opponents, its' hard for me to say.

However, I think you played both okay.

Hand 1. IF you had stats on 3better and he was fishy and had high 3b %. Also, I'm not sure how many bb's that the guy shoved with 99. All that, I'd say if it was a mistake to fold, it was small one.

Hand 2. You won the pot and I'm not sure what you want your opponents to do there. If they call your C-Bet you are prob going to lose the hand on the turn or river.

Give more info next time please.

Thanks

Good luck,

In the second hand I think they were just calling me preflop due to there position with probably QJ type hands. I was playing quite a few hands so I don't think it was that I was to tight and I am not sure what SFA means but thanks for the feedback.

In the first hand our stack sizes ranged from 150 BB's to 75BB's so the implied odds really weren't there for me to take a risk with a drawing hand.

In the second hand I wanted them to fold as I only had A high but the reason I posted these two hands was in a previous thread someone was curious on how to play when there a 3 and 4 bets after you and what to do on a relatively dry boards so I thought these two examples may help. Thanks for the reply though always appreciate constructive feedback.

For the first one more details about the community cards maybe helpful to get a better idea of what you hand could have been had you stayed in. If you would have stayed in and not beaten the 2 pair then it was a good fold.

Maybe for the second hand they thought you paired up the best hand based on the bet you had and were not willing to bet more. So they folded when you raised. It may have been a bit aggressive as they folded with no extra action occurring but it worked out and was the correct call since you won the hand.

AK is a tough hand to play, because in the end, it is still just Ace high. I don't think you made any mistakes on either hand. In the first, you decided not to speculate against 2 opponents. In the second, you made the read that both your opponents missed the board so bet and make them pay to chase a draw.
