:icon_rr: i play in £0.50/£1 limit games

i play these hands in poker, pre flop, what do you think?

all pairs
connected suitors
when i have both cards above jack
when i have two that could make a flush eg. TQ of diamond

should i play cards like 68 suited with a gap?

i dunno about all pairs...you should probably not play anything lower than 7s

and even with 7s, 8s and 9s you have to have pretty solid post-flop skills to eliminate players in limit HE

i don't know LHE that well so it's probably a better idea not to listen to me :D

it all depends on your position and what has happened before you already in the hand

lots of those hands you are probably better off folding

ie most the low pairs
low suited connectors
most the high card combinatons, specially unsuited

you can play more hands when you are in late position and the betting hasn't been opened yet, likewise the small pairs if lots of people have just called the blinds before you

I would dump suited one gap cards as well

lots of those hands can be in trouble, ie against higher flushes, higher kickers etc

Hi
Chuck...you dump pairs below 7's? Amazing! If the price is right i'll play any pair for the fact is against any 2 higher cards your above 50% to win, your only in trouble if they have a higher pair and they would raise with that and i would dump 22 33 and maybe 44, but i'll call a raise with 55. In holdem you are best raising with any pair but do not call a 3 bet raise. Hellmuth likes to play this way too.

Low pairs will never make it in low limit hold em - you cant bet anyone off the pot, and opponents will call all the way with any high card. Most poker techniques go out the window at this level. Personally I would call if you get a picture card, and bet all the way if you flop top pair (otherwise fold). People will stay in to the end with second pair, bottom pair, under pair, flush draw, straight draw, ace, and anything else really, so just keep betting until higher card flops.

low limit holdem is a slut to play..harder than 20/40. You cannot bluff a pot at 0.25/0.50. you get all sorts of callers and raisers. they will chase anything to the death. they can't seem to lay down anything with an ace in and they are not happy til they river one. I steer well clear of those bad boys.

hands

i play also play the hands you mentioned but sometimes i like to play odd hands like 6 3 suited...u never know when the flop is gunna be 6 6 3 or something

but if ur gunna play odd hands you need to be able to just call them....dont be calling big raises with these cards unless u got the cash
