Not sure, but I have not read this one and very interested in it myself. Might have to go purchase one myself. Kid Poker is my favorite and he always amazes me being able to know what 2 cards his opponent is holding a good bit of the time. Thanks for sharing the cover of this book so I can recognize it easier when I goto Books a Million. Thanks!!

I read on "4" that not many of their members liked it. But it isn't published by them now, is it. lol :joyman: So if you end up liking it, I might get it. Post a review when you are finished.

I bought this book also, It's ok. I don't agree with the beginner strat for MTT but I think its more based towards live games, daniel has a good chapter in the end about small ball play it's an interesting read.

I agree, its an interesting read and didnt find it groundbreaking. I bought it due to the link with Negreanu and I'd says its a good read for the novice player rather than a more experienced one. It's not as detailed as the Harrington books but strikes a nice balance.

I didn't get too far in that beginner strategy yet; I've been jumping around. From what I saw it seemed pretty solid for a very beginner strategy. That was its purpose anyway. What didn't you like about it?

This book is actually sitting on my bed right now! I've read the majority of it and enjoyed it! It is well written and its got some solid advice, a lot of it is pretty intuitive but I got a lot out of the small ball section and the Mixing it Up section by David Williams!
cheers,
Chad

I really need to pick up one of the newer books by these pros. I'm still sitting on Super System. lol. I need a new way of thinking. I read plenty of online tips and strategy but I think this type of literature benefits your game a lot more.

In my personal opinion...and I'm just going on what I did well with, Playing tight and being able to fold was what got me into the bubble when I was a beginner. Not shoving with quality starting hands. Most of the time unless you're holding Aces and sometimes even that doesn't work, people are going to call you to the flop anyways regardless. The strat is all about getting people to fold thier pre-flop cards. But in online poker alot of people playing will call you to the flop in tournys. I would think this strat is better for live games. It's just my 2 cents though.

Do this! I am attempting to read everything I can get my hands on. I picked up Mike Caro's book of tells on thursday. I play way more hands online then I do live, but I have a regular Saturday Cash game as well. Knowledge is power.

I just bought this book a few days ago with some Christmas gift certificates I had lying around. I've already read SuperSystem 2 and FTP's tournament strategy guide. I've leafed thru PHS a bit, looks good so far but i just need to find some time to sit down for an hour.

The book's chapters are by different players, which i'm okay with because i'd rather have some different perspectives.

Just starting to read it and as a novice player I think is one of the very first books a poker player has to read.

2.o Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice (2006)

It is a very good book. There are a couple different approaches in the book. Danial's small ball section is better suited to an advanced player. Todd Brunsons' style is pretty basic and is ideal for novice players.
