I use PokerStove a lot when I'm analyzing hands. I figure that perhaps an introductory article on how to use it and what to use it for might be in order for those of us that are still stuck on using the-rule-of-2-and-4 even when they're analyzing hands away from the table.

What do you think?

And what questions would you like me to address/answer in the article?

Great idea FP, I use it occasionally and an article on it's full merits would be ideal.

Yes please :)

I have it sitting as an unused icon on my desktop at the moment, so anything would help, really...

Yep please do FP :)
I mostly use it when I'm deep on tournaments but i think i could probably make a more profitable use of PokerStove.
So everything you could share with us on how you use it will be a goldmine for me. ;)

You are probably and old pro at it now FP, but if you could remember how the learning process went for you, and relate that it would be good.

Obviously how to basically use the program first, but then what for you was the first positive learning experience about the data involved. Then maybe the second, third, etc, until you get to maybe 5 or 10 different things, and lump those into an 'in the beginning' section.

My unused icon has been moved to the 'unused icons' folder.

Go for it FP. I've used it a little, but tbh I'm not well versed in it. I realize it's a pretty simple tool in general, but any tips/tricks you have to share in an article would be great.

Excellent idea, FP. I used it a bit and had no idea what I was doing. The PokerStove's help files & user's manual are quite lacking, IIRC. Then the Pokerstove site was down for a while, so I uninstalled it. I'd re-install it if I knew what I was doing.

FP,

Did you really expect dozens of people to pop up in here saying "For the love of God don't do it!". ;)

Seriously, you're an excellent writer, do it! I'm kinda interested to see what you come up with aside from the obvious (basically "put villain on range, put range into pstove, voila").

Well, honestly, the first question was just there as a filler. It was the second question that was the point of the post, but I felt already before I hit "Submit" that this is going to be one of those things where everyone says yes :)

But it's all good.

ohhhhhhhhh, hahaha. I was just about to ask what you wrote at the end, but now I get it. Word for word, I'm going to guess that you wrote "just kidding please do it" but what came out was "fair-minded [in terms of justice] fun satisfy do it." Every word is correct though, but especially "please" came out exactly wrong :p

Yes, that would be very useful to newbies like myself.

List of the functions.
List of possible computations.
And how to use.
Thanks
