Hi Guys,

Any help would be appreciated.
Last night at my local home game this situation came up, and a major debate followed.

In a cash game this situation arose;
pre flop.....SB posts $200, BB posts $400, player 3 folds, player 4 goes all in for $320, player 5 folds, player 6(dealer) goes all in for $800, SB folds, BB folds.
What is the pot total that player 4 and player 6 would be playing for?

Thanks
Dennis

Hello.
What a high stakes cash game!!!

Player 6 will be returned his 800$-400$=400$ since nobody calls his all in plus 400$-320$=80$ to him since player 4 wasn't cover the BB.
So both players are playing for 200$(small blind)+320$(of player 4 bet)+320$(of player 6 bet)+ 320$(of big blind)=1160$ is the total pot both players.

Pot size calculus

What a good question! Since I only play online and never bothered thinking in how exactely this calculus is made, I come with my idea:

  1. the total sum of money on the table is 200+400+320+800=1720. But player 4 only contributed with 320 of this amount, so he must be paid back equals 320 from the blinds plus 320 from the dealer, plus his own 320. Total 960.
  2. The dealer will be playing for the entire pot.
I will pay attention on my next all in situation to figure out how it actually happens. :D
