Ok, so I just though about this.....Its pretty commonly agreed that posting oop is bad. Many people will use this as a sign of a bad player. They will assume he is bad if he is an unknown and have no stats on that player. COULD it be profitable in the long run to post oop so people would assume you are a bad player when you are in fact not? Could this situation arise where a player would play you like a fish or super aggro more often than posting the blinds oop would hurt your stack? Thoughts?

doubt it, if they are half decent players they will pick up on the fact that you posted early, but they wont take it into consideration after 100 or so hands when they see that you are a tight aggressive. might help if your wanting to set up a maniac or lag image, raising a heaps of pots early on then switching back and tightening your range.

Now you say you would be posting out of position, im guessing that means in early position, if your posting in late position like in the cut off it wouldn't be so bad. posting your blinds normally to me would mean your out of position.

i dont think it could be a profitable play if your posting in early position, it just doesnt make much sense, posting in late could work but only if your wanting to set up a loose and wild table image..

Also this will only have an effect at the mid to high levels, like 1/2 2/4 the lower you go the less effect it will have.. and eventually the better players will still pick up on how you play, so short term, perhaps, long term i highly doubt it can be profitable.. but who knows someone may correct me but thats my opinion.

Posting out of position could a be a gear you can change to from time to time if you have a read on your opponents. I would stick to solid play.

Online with all the multi-tablers, poor players, and people using tracking programs, I don't think that the expected return you get from the image you project from this small gesture will make up for the cost of the extra blind that round.

In a live game with fairly observant players, I think people will remember what you did a bit longer. So maybe then this metagame play will net you more money in the long run when someone makes a bad call because of this.

You might make a couple of dollars in the first orbit from players assuming your just too eager to gamble to wait for the BB to reach your starting position, but doubtful that you'd make enough to make this a profitable strategy.
Same as sitting down with minimum buy-in so players think your playing out of your limits and bully you. Profitable for a few minutes until the table wise up.
