Lets say you are implementing the check/raise into your game strategy to add more dynamic and balance. Also maybe to exploit regs who have played enough hands against you and are now consistently floating your flop c-bet with pretty much all of their range whether they whiff the flop or not. For the purpose of this thread I dont want to go deep into what your flop cbet % is or that it is possible that you are cbetting to frequently with to much of your range that is a whole other topic. I just want to look at what the most profitable line or lines you should take once the decision to check raise rather then cbet the flop.

Lets say we are UTG with AQs at a 6 max table. We make a standard open raise of 3xBB and get called by the CO. The flop comes 2 4 J rainbow with 1 of your suit. In this situation with a rather dry unconnected board it is almost an automatic cbet but what if you were to switch it up and go for the check raise? What kind of range would assign the CO here if the CO were a TAG REG? I thibk you could include some J Ts, alot of Axs, KQs+, possibly A Js, AQs, 6 7s+, maybe even some suited one gappers. So you go for the check raise and get called assuming that the CO will fire off almost 100% of his range here with you feigning weakness. Do you barrel off any turn card? Do you check and give the pot control back to the CO? If you do barrel the turn and get called do you fire off a river barrel with a bluff just as you would if you were to connect? I feel that if you check back after the turn you almost always have to fold if your opponent makes another bet here. If you barrel on any turn card do you put yourself in a position to have to go for the river barrel even if you dont connect assuming you lose a showdown a large % of the time.

This is just a random thought i had this morning and i figures i would see what anyone elses thoughts are about the check raise line.

I think in this example if the check raise doesn't take it down then you better hope for a card on the turn. Even if you catch a Q for example I would just check call as though I am holding on hoping my "J" is good. If you miss on the turn check folding is going to happen 99 percent of the time. If he checks back the turn you might try a river bluff but I wouldn't be too optimistic. I like c-betting this situation and check calling the turn if things don't go your way. On the river if you check and are bet into you can safely fold Ace high against most players.

CR bluffing is not a big part of my game. It just seems like a spot where you risk facing substantial negative implied odds. When you check raise you are basically repping over pairs or better hands. It would be natural for strong hands to continue betting on the turn. That will expose your stack.

If he calls the check raise, he may just be getting sticky, but often he will have a TP or better. Re-raising obviously sucks pretty much any time you do not have a real big hand. Personally I think the check raise should generally be used when you actually think you are likely ahead, and villain will bet out, but fold to a bet, or you need a raise to get all in by the river.

I sometimes even with a very good hand do not raise, I give the enemy to understand that I have a weak hand and he can create one bluff proodit but it is not often that the enemy climbs Street and all)

simple let never see a free card your opponent and you give the opportunity without risk and most good players take that opportunity and often more than you think you lay down your hand always takes the initiative from any position and almost siemrpe ganaras pots without nesecidad to teach letters and your game will always be safe
