Hey. Whats up everyone.
Yesterday I was playing a 2cents/5cents cash game on pokerstars when this hand came up...
Blinds posted. A raise to 20cents made by the UTG who happened to be a very aggressive player. Its folded around to me in the Cut Off and Im holding 5h5s. Here is my question.

Should I or Could I have reraised with the 5h5s in this position? This particular player was showing a lot of aggression throughout the game. He also had the largest stack at the table. I thought he was bluffing a whole lot.

I decided to call. It was folded around until the Bb called. The flop came 6c Ks 3c. The Bb checks. UTG bets out 45cents. After some quick thought I folded. The Bb called. Turn brings 2h. The Bb checks and the UTG bets. Bb folds.

Was my call right or wrong?
Thanks in advance.

I'd always call this because he sounds like the perfect villain to set mine against, and aslong as he has a stack of around 2dollars + then calling 20 cents is profitable if you think you can get most of his chips if you hit... as you will make a set about 1 in 8 times from a pocket pair on the flop, so with his big stack definately a fine call... with people like this a small raise probably wont achieve anything you could come right over the top and hope he folds which he very well may when someone fights back, but you will be risking a lot and if hes a big fish he may call you with any two overcards e.g. 10 Q, and then its pretty much a coin flip on who's going to win.

You really need more than 10 times the raise size as when you hit your set you are not going to get his whole stack very often and sometimes he may still beat you. Generally if I am not close to 100bbs deep I will not bother set mining...

Yea i think you played the hand fine as you say he is obv opening there with a big range so your hand is good for his range. you want to call just on the button if you raise this gives him the chance to reraise you and you will have to fold. by calling you have the chance to flop a set and being in position you should use his aggressiion then to get paid off. on a flop liek that it is very unlikely that he hit his hand. i personally would call in situations like this because his range is still broad at this point and he probably hasnt hit. this will give you the chance to turn a set and he may check to you on the turn and you could bet out and steal the pot.

However!since this is a small stakes cash game I wouldnt do that what you did was fine small pairs you shud be aiming to flop a set if not fold. It would also depend on your openent for floating.
