So, I'm thinking of switching to plo. No limit holdem just isn't that profitable for me at micro stakes. I get bored, and I feel like my top pair always gets sucked dry by call fish. I'll admit, I make bad decisions sometimes. But it seems like there's more going on than that. I don't think I'm adjusting to the God awful micro stakes. I had a short spell in nlhe 25 and did much better than nlhe 2. I know I'm calling in good spots and raising in good spots, but just getting sucked out. My question is that since plo is more a math game if it's more straightforward in its complexity. I'm more of a maths guy and all. Im better at pot odds and equity calculations than guessing what two pair the other guy is raising up with out of no where.

I tried PLO for a while. It seemed like fun, but there just aren't nearly as many PLO games as there are NLHE games.

I love PLO. I do. It's my new favorite game. Hold'em seems so boring and straight forward by comparison. But, if you get frustrated by suckouts, it is NOT your game. People call and chase all the time, usually with quite a bit of equity (even if it's not enough to justify their call). It is pretty typical to be playing for stacks with a 60-67% equity on the flop. That is great, and will win you money, but you're going to lose a lot of those along the way.

It is a great game. I encourage you to hop on board. But, you must learn to find peace with the suck-outs. You must even learn to find peace when you suck out, because sometimes you will be on the wrong end of a 60/40 but the pot-odds dictate you get the money in.

When Holdem flooded with nits and other regulars

When Holdem flooded with nits and other regulars, PLO began to represent a good alternative. Open pokerstars any day of the week, and you will always find completed PLO tables up to the highest limits. Add to this MTT, Zoom and special cache tables and you will realize that the popularity of PLO is really growing. If you are looking for a real action, PLO will always be a more suitable option than other types of poker.
