Jeff Hwang's advice is to almost always Pot size after the flop and right off the top of my head I forget what he says about turn. What say you fellow CC members?

I think it is a good way to hide your hands because if you pot size when on a draw and pot size when you already have it, it will be tougher for opponnents to read what you have.

Thoughts?

It has to do with building the pot. If you're betting less than pot, its tough to get all in.

Well, I don't play much omaha but I do know that any advice that tells you to ALWAYS do something or NEVER do something can't be right. That doesn't mean the advice won't help an amatuer if it is right most of the time. Judging by the fact that you list omaha as your game and you have almost 500 posts on here im willing to bet that your game is beyond this advice actually helping you. Like I said, I don't play omaha but I'm guessing that varying your bet sizes is probably the best advice here.

My biggest worry is chasing people out when I have a hand that is either the nuts are close to it. I know I don't want to give free or cheap cards but I also want players in the pot when I am strong no?

Players start playing Omaha because they hear its a drawing game, and draw they will despite the pot odds you're offering them.

c9....your advice is always valuable to me. Are you saying go ahead and pot bet without fear of chasing them out. Even with the nuts. I guess a lot of factors like the players to call style come into play here as well?

Another question if I pot bet the flop and get re raise full pot size what would it take to call or re raise here. Drawing the to the nuts at the very least?

In almost 95% of cases, yes. And in the other 5%, potting the flop is a small mistake. Which is probably why Hwang says to just pot it all the time.

This depends so much on the flop texture its not even funny.

WOW, never saw so much bad advice as long as I have been playing O8 or str8 Om. The OP fails to mention which game it is ( no diss mixer ), and whether you will get called or reraised also depend on whether it's a sng ring or mtt game, early game mid or late, the beat goes on. In any event, a caller or raiser has the nuts, or is drawing to the nuts.

No diss to me. The title of my thread is PLO. If I refer to anything else I will say PLO8 or PLO h/l

Hope that helps

;)

If a caller calls my bet size bet how much you wanna bett they aren't always drawing to the nuts. How about the large amount of people that have no clue how the game is played. Or the people that call anything cause like c9 said it is a drawing game.

You make a good point when you state it is omportant to know if it is a SnG or MTT. That is info I will be ure to include in the future.
