Ok so I understand why everyone says this is dumb and should be not do, i understand.

Now, what if the lowest limit is too high for your bankroll and you can not go down any further.

some sites only offer limits that are so low, 4NL 10NL. And this is hard for the micro stakes player to play with a full BI since it is way over BRM. ( talking about a 20-60$ BR)

So with this in mind, would it be bad to buy in less, or the minimum? Only because you would be in your BR.

I think your title should have been "Playing short stacked"

I would say it depends on how you play. Many good players completely ignore BRM. BUT you have to be good enough. Some people say as a novice player it is fine to buy in for less. I would do whatever you feel comfortable with doing. Sometimes that is the best anyway. If you buy in full and feel nervous, it wont be of any benefit.

If your roll is $60 and easily replacable then just play the games, really to build from so low you need to be taking tons of shots.

Really.... well what if it is not easily replaceable? what if this is the roll you were given and you have to make it last. Games are higher than your BRM suggests. So what do you do to make it work?

Be really good? Be a nit?

Thats how i define a bankroll. For me a $10K rolls is not replaceable whereas a $60 one is. If it is not easily replacable then you have to apply correct BRM.

Play full ring until you have enough, or micro sit and go's. If you cannot replace it then dont take shots :)

It is fine to buy in for minimum, you just have to play accordingly. You have to also realize how your opponents will play against a short stack. They will be less intimidated, not chase many draws, but not be afraid to call your all ins with marginal hands.

You can attempt to shortstack at a given stake, however know that by doing this variance is going to be in much greater effect on you as you'll end up in a lot of iffy/flippy spots. Most of the "professional" shortstackers I've seen usually end up doing it on a 70-80 min BI bankroll as the swings can be brutal and last for a bit.

With $60 I'd just play 4NL with 100BBs. If your a winning player chances are you won't go bust, 15BI downswings are fairly rare especially at the micros. Just don't make playing with a 15BI roll a regular thing.

Well done :D And thanks everyone for the info. :) I think being able to play confortably is best over feeling pressured to play, since this may throw you off you A game ( if you have an A game lol )
