How do some players play at several tables and still win

I need to stay totally focused or I lose, but some people play at 6 or 7 sometimes

play multiple tables on structure is much easier then no limit because especially in low limit structured games your playing the cards not the players. So for a good player the amount he would lose not watching the other players is made up by playing more hands per hour. But you have got to be a winning player first or you just lose twice as fast.

I usually play 2 or 3 tables when I want the action to go fast. But it is much harder.

I don't think players can play at 6 or 7....

4 is very hard for me and my friends, we play 3 at a max or it all goes to hell! but I guess when u are really skilled then u can play at 4 with no problem, it's all about practising I think

I can normally play two at a time and do ok. If it gets to be more than that, I have a tendency to hit the wrong buttons. For example I'll think I'm going to press the fold button but before I can the other table pops up and I go all in on 5-9 off suit. That's happened more times than I like to admit. :dong:

Since I have no job, but still a steady income, I have gotten to play a lot of online poker lately. I enter all the cheap ($5 and under) tournaments on Paradise and Party, and sometimes run about 3-4 NL tourneys at a time. This has proven to be successful with my style of tournament play which is VERY tight. I think whether one can handle multiple tables depends less on focus, and more on your particular style.

You usually fold a lot of pre-flop hands anyway, so it is unusual to have to play both tables at once. You can usually juggle the two (or three) tables.

the trick is to use multiple monitor computers. :) you can see many hands and just work your way down the line

Count me among the mt-challenged who are too easily confused to make it work for me. I get completely lost when the screens flip back and forth on my turn to act. And, if a decision comes up simultaneously on more than one table, I panic at the running clock.

Watching the 2004 wsop profile of "Crew" member Scott Fischman during one of the broadcasts last summer, I noticed that he was shown sitting at his home computer, playing online. His monitor was displaying four different tables in quadrants. Since I haven't encountered a poker site which has this sort of display option, I assumed that it was a hardware package he was using. Anybody have some input on that?

I like to do 2 at once. It keeps me from getting bored.
Sometimes I do lose track of who is tight and who is loose but I normally notice the rocks and maniacs.

I often play Omaha hi/lo so the cards are more important than the players and hands take so long that I can play one and not have to keep folding on the other table.

I have played 7 play money tables for a laugh and it was a nightmare. I don't see how anyone could do it for real money.

Another thing that I have done for fun is play 4 tables at once with 4 different games. Omaha hi/lo, 7 card stud, no limit Holdem and Razz.
That is enough to fry your brain.

I don't know what you mean by "in quadrants" but I have set my screen resolution to 1600x1200 and I can get 4 games on screen at once. It looks like my screen is split in 4 with a game in each corner.
Is that what you mean?

It is cool because the screens don't flip back and forth either and I can watch all 4 at once. I get plenty of advance notice when it is my turn to act.

Yeah, that would pretty much be the definition of "quadrants" alright. But I have no idea how to do that or how it works. If anyone would like to take the time to private message me and explain it reeeeeeeeal slowwwwwww so that even I can understand, that would be great. I run Windows XP Home 2000.

I can explain it for you and if you have any problems PM me and I will get back to you.

1. Right click in an empty area on your desktop.

2. You should get a drop down menu. Left click on "properties"

3. You should get the "display properties" window. Click on "settings"

4. You should see a slider called "screen area". Slide that slider to the right.

That is the slider that sets your screen resolution. I recommend 1600x1200.

5. Click ok and restart your PC.

If it doesn't look right you can always reset it to where it was before.

PM. me if you have any problems.

Try playing HiLo on multiple tables, I find it improves my play by forcing me to play better starting hands.

One more thing Ultimate bet offers a mini screen, and it is very easy to play 4 hands at once. But it does take some getting used to.

I like watching every hand and how everyone else at my table plays it. I prefer only one table with some music on in the backround. though sometimes i try to play multiple games and end up making mistakes that gets me angry with my play

3 or 4 isnt that hard, i've done it many times. the trick is setting your screen resolution high at 1600 x 1200 so all four tables fit on your screen without overlapping eachother, this eliminates having to go back and forth to each table as action happens, you can sit there and watch all foru tables equally. The problem many people have with multi tabling is that they let a bad beat from one table effect their play on the other tables which is why many people start to lose when they mutli table.
