I had really wanted to try live cash so I went up to central to play £1/£2.

I was getting nothing but rags for the whole session but didn't want to walk away as it was my first experience. Ended up all in with As10c on a board of 8sAc9s. He flipped a Qs10s, Naturally I lost.

I had a great time though and will definitely go back when I have more cash to burn.

As I was new to it, I found my play to be atrocious. Too loose on account of my nerves. Unaware of pot sizes and stack sizes.

Does anyone have tips so I can be a little more prepared next time?

What do you mean by naturally? You are ahead on the flop...

Got it in kind of light didn't you? I mean you had back doors and a pair, was there a reason for this or a read you had on villain?

I had seen several of his hands earlier that went to showdowns, so really doubted he had sets or two pair. I put him on a straight or flush draw, not both. I thought I was ahead as I had a ten and a spade.

The math side is where I need a lot of practice, was I wrong?

Ya you are slightly ahead on the flop math wise, 57% favorite to be precise.

Im trying to get to grips with the various concepts within poker theory.

In that vary same hand, I was last to speak and my nemesis was first to speak. He checks on the flop, the MP bet about a quarter of my stack, which I called. My nemesis then went all-in which the MP folded and I called.

From what I've gathered, if I have ~50% chance of winning more than double my stack, then it is profitable?

If your new and your opponents are all regulars or know each other, then your on the edge.

How about watching and observing the table first. Join tables you know you can beat.

Look for soft tables.
