Hey guys, in the live game i go to frequently, there is a lot of aggressive play. In a six max game, how do you guys usually play ak when you will be oop? 3bet mostly, or call? I feel like many times if i 3bet, especially against aggressive players, im simply building a big pot with a drawing hand. So any advice would be great! (i know the answer is "it depends", so if you need any more specific info let me know)

Raise/3bet/4bet or fold. Only time we're folding is if we're facing a 3bet or 4bet from a complete nit.

Never call, you're OOP and you're never going to make more money playing fit or fold than aggressively when OOP.

Playing to hit a pair or fold is really bad because the amount of times you're going to miss is going to cost you a lot, then when you do hit top pair you've got card removal on the A's or K's and are going to only rarely get action. If you're planning to bluff some of the time, better to be the pre-flop aggressor.

Raise pre-flop, cbet any flop, continue betting as long as you think their range is still wide (i.e. if you think they'll float a lot of their draws/air this far).
Against calling stations it's a mix of cbetting then check-folding when called and check-folding missed flops depending on their requirements for calling a cbet.

How much do you 3bet? And does it matter what their initial raise was? if they raise 2bb do you 3bet more/less than if they bet 5bb?

Ideally, I wanna be getting approx 10% of stacks in pre there. Any regular 3bet is going to do that though unless you're really deep.

3-3.5x in position and 4-4.5x oop is pretty standard

Since the game you describe looks to be loose you could make your raises higher in order to get more money in there preflop. You will ofter get players to call you and get stuck with a worse kicker.

definitely true for a lot of games, but they are all tight as far as calling about 3bets. but makes sense for a lot of games.
