Personal Tips to Crash the Cash Game.
So as you all know there are many ways to play cash games and I am sure everyone here has their own way of playing.
I'm going to talk about some quick tips I have learned for cash games.
The tips I am going speak about are purely my own that I have found out within the Cash game world. Some of this Advice can be brought onto tournaments but Is strongly recommended for the Cash world.
So ill make it simple, I will list them and speak about each one Individually.
1. The buy in; x100 BB
When you sit and a Cash game and you are roughly playing for longer than 1 hr plus you must make sure your stack size is going to be up for taking a beating if you get a bad beat and if you are card dead. You dont want to sit down with a small chip stack and find out that you have to go ALL-IN with K9 off just because youve been card dead and you've been bleeding yourself because you have been waiting for the right cards to fly your way.
Also if you do have a bad beat. Have a break and reload. Refer to tip 7 for bad beat.
2. The button;
In cash games the button to me is my little holy grail. I play almost any cards on the button. (at a reasonable price of course)
Sometimes I have even played blind with the button.
Reason it is so important is you can watch peoples actions on the flop also pre flop because you will always be the last action. The amount of tells
I have seen just by watching people from the button is quite something. Also if you see someone trying to take the pot when it comes to you even if you dont have cards, RE-RAISE them and see how they act. If on the turn they bet and dont check they usually have a hand. But I have won many pots with this RE-Raise alone. The pay off for me has worked in alot of cases givin the circumstances that I thought was right to play it. (Do not do the RE-RAISE every time it will put a hole in your game. Only do It when you have sufficient information and evidence that you think seems fit).
3. SB, BB. RANGES
Many people will give up their SB,BB quite easily when they dont have the cards they want. Its not about the cards you want, its about the ranges to play.
If you only play AK, AQ, AA, AJ, A10, KQ etc... you will not get far in the Cash world. You have to play ranges. I play many hands if it it cheap enough. And you will be surprised the outcome. Dont be affraid to play. You have put money into the pot already dont give it up too easily. And also DO NOT BE AFFRAID TO LAY DOWN. YOU ARE NEVER COMMITED TO A POT. EVER. Unless your ALL-IN.
Make your own ranges and play them.
4. Aggressive Is Good.
Being A aggressive player is good. PERIOD.
Human nature. Think about human nature. Cash games... got that in your head, okay now think of the table as a business.
People do not want to put their own money into something if its not gonna work.
Being aggressive on a cash table forces people out their comfort zones to really consider playing their hands.
Just a eye opener.
There is a difference to being aggressive and being a loose idiot. Its your job to find your passive aggressive play in a cash game.
5. Tight is right.
If you find a player that is tight you can exploit this massively. You can put him on a certain range of hands quite quickly and hone him down to your advantage. Which in turn will help you make good decisions.
6. Dont play the fish.
You got that fish on the table huh.
You think you can beat this unpredictable idiot huh.
Well hes a unpredictable idiot so hes gonna be unpredictable and most probably get lucky on you. Dont think its a easy double up. Play cautiously around him. You have more chance beating someone that knows the game because you study the play instead of some fish playing every hand and might get lucky against your AK.
7. BAD BEATS.
So you went all in with AA huh and got beat by 2,9 off.
Take a break. Move table. Go home try again tomorrow or reload and play your best game. Think about it. There is still luck in the game too. Your not always gonna win. Play your best game and in the long run it will serve you well. Oh and you did the right thing. Unless you really really make a bad call then learn from it.
Every day is a learning day at the tables. I learn all the time. Study your game. Read forums.
For me to learn now I would like people to give their own cash game tips. That would be very helpful.
Hope you enjoyed reading my post.
