re: Poker & People need to learn to fold when they are beat!
Well, I can't really fault your play right up to the river. The Checkraise was a real show of strength and BABYDOLL should have had no reason to think her ladies were good, however, given her position over you and the 8.5:1 pot odds
, she may have thought it was worth the $400 to call and see what you would do on the turn. Your $3200 bet was certainly enough to dispell any notions that your hand was less than top pair. She may have seen the 10 as an opportuinity to represent the straight, that combined with her now depleted chip stack and her 10 outs (open ended draw, not gutshot like you said) must have seemed like the best chance she had to get back in the hunt.
All that being said, you seem to have fallen in love with your flopped 2 pair. Your play was in many ways worse than hers. If the 10 on the turn wasn't a scare card the King on the river surely must have been. That call was dumb dumb dumb dumb.
When you are beat.. you need to know you are... for crying out loud!
What is it when people call bets when they are beat..
Do I need to put quotation marks around this?
