I was wondering if any of you are playing penny cash games here? The reason i play them is to build up some money. I`m new to the cash game, only been playing it for about 2 months so i`m not too confident of my game and i want to make sure i understand what i`m doing and then move to 2/5 cents once i`m ready. Is there any specific tips you guys have? I play TAG on the penny tables(0.01/0.02) and i`ve been successful so far. I made like $40 in the last month. I only play 2-3 times a week for few hours(my work doesnt allow me to play as much i would love to).

Good way to build up your roll. A lot of really loose players at these levels are easy targets. I notice some come in and try to bully the table and then leave quickly once others catch on.

You can play TAG and win definitely. I played those things for awhile playing basically just pairs and big aces. Some suited stuff only in position with huge expressed odds (i.e. lots of limpers in front of me).

I was running 11/8/2.5 with 13bb/100

But now....I changed things up a bit. At these tiny levels, people stack off way light. So I figured I should amp up my pots being played, and exploit their loose tendancies. It worked out.

I increased my vpip to 28, pfr dropped to 4.80, AF up a bit to 2.84.
but now my bb/100 during this play is up to 25.5, just a tad under double my results playing tight.

You might wanna give this a try and see how it works for you. If you're comfortable with post-flop play it may actually feel a lot more natural. I'm pretty much a lagtard at heart, so playing tight kills me, but since it grinds a BR I'll do it. Finding out that I could play 30% of my hands and actually increase my winning significantly was music to my ears. GL

I doubt your winrate is sustainable even at those stakes. How large of a sample size has you been playing this style. Anything under 25k hands is just too small of a sample size to know for sure.

10-15bb/100 is *totally* sustainable at penny stakes. Not sure at NL5, but at NL2 it's just waiting for people to throw money at you.

There was a bet at "another forum" that some mid-stakes reg couldn't maintain a winrate of like 20bb/100 at 5$ NL. I think he ended up sustaining like 22bb/100 over 100k hands.
