Paying bills with poker?
So a couple weeks ago I made a post asking how hard it is beat live poker games
1-2 dollar cash games at my local casino.
I know getting a straight answer is hard.
You guys had some great advice and I decided I couldn't help myself.
So I took $100 dollars, 50BB, and went for it. I figured I didn't need much more because my style of playing isn't trying to stack people. It's beating them over and over again in small pots and building up pots when i hold a monster.
So 50BB was fine for me.
I made $100 dollars within 2 hours of being there. So I left.
I came back the next day and played maybe 6 hours, I was there till 4am.
I made $200 starting with 50BB again!!!
The games are incredibly soft. You have young guys who don't really put in the time to figure the game out, you can usually take them out with top pair because they can't stand the idea of being beat out of any pot i suppose.
The old guys that sit there frequently are so tight and mostly just play straight up, it's not hard to get a read on them and fold.
And most of the good players go to the 1-3 dollar tables NL or PL omaha, when they do play the 1-2 dollar tables it seems like they get bored and loosen up way too much.
I made $300 dollars in two days enjoying my hobby, I know there's no way I can continue that right?
My goal would be $300 dollars a month, I know it's not much, but it is to me. I'm freaking 22 and don't make that much. That'll help pay for bills.
From what I understand 10BB per 100 hands is crushing it...
If I play 25hands per hour live that means I should only expect to make $20 dollars every 4 hours on a perfect day? That doesn't seem right..
