I was wondering if you had any input. I am in the LA area and the Low Stakes Cash Games My bankroll can afford are a Max $20 buy in NL 1/1 game with a $3.50 Rake, a Max $40 Buy in NL 1/2 game with the same $3.50 rake or the Max $100 Buy in NL 1/3 game with $5 rake. I also play limit and they have 2/4 with $3.50 rake, 3/6 with $5 rake and a 4/8 with full Kill game with $5 rake. I have about a $2000 roll and I was wondering what you think would be the best way to grind up a bigger roll so I can play bigger games. Is it safer to play Limit and grind a roll. I am confused. I don't mind playing the lowest stakes games around but if its gonna brutalize my roll because of RAKE I don't even want to dabble with it. I am trying to play to have the least amount of variance. I basically have Commerce, The Bike, The Gardens and Hustler to choose to play at.All help is greatly appreciated.

honestly,

don't even bother playing a 1/1 game w/20$ max as rake will win in the end, same goes for the 1/2 40$ bi

I guess the max 100 1/3 game, but again that's only 33 bb's, your going to be committing to every hand you play.

Not really sure about limit games tbh but my advise would be to find some 1/2 nl max bi 200$ games and take a 10 bi shot at 200nl live.

I'm not from the LA area but I know the reputation of those rooms. I don't think those are the max buy ins for the levels you have suggested. They sound more like the mins.

If those are max buy ins, the rake is gonna kill you in the small games. If it were me I would play the 1/2nl and buy in for $100 untill I reached $4,000 then I would look for a 1/2nl where I could buy in for $200.

I think your best option is to play online at bovada or one of the merge sites. The payouts take about 3 weeks but if ur goal is to build ur roll up slow and steady I think you can start online at 25 NL and work ur way up. These live games will be soft but the rake is very high and online s much more convienent.
