Opening from the small blind.

What is your opening range from the small blind when against a loose opponent in the BB?

I suspect I am opening to wide in this situation so would like to see other players opening ranges in this situation for comparisons sake.

Really depends. Loose passive? Loose aggressive? What is their post flop play like? Just some general thoughts:

If they play fit or fold post flop, you can raise 100% of the time regardless of whether they are loose or tight preflop.

If they are loose and passive both preflop and postflop, I don't mind open limping many hands. You generally don't want to be bloating a pot OOP against someone that calls a lot.

Against people who are LAG preflop, you're going to have to tighten up a bit. If someone raises 100% of your open limps, a good adjustment would be to start open limp-reraising the top end of your range while open raising the middle of your opening range like normal. Once they start checking their option after you limp, you can start open limping again with the bottom end of your range.

Against a loose BB i'll generally open a range similiar to what I would open in the cutoff as a baseline. Will adjust that depending on thier postflop tendancies. Against players that are weaktight postflop you can add more hands preferably ones that can flop some decent equity where you can stay aggressive and barrel with outs. Vs. calling stations I usually dont mess with the smaller suited connectors as much, because you won't have much fold equity post flop. But you will get more value for your top pair hands. So any two 9 or higher, suited aces,pps, maybe like k8s+, usually works for me

Thanks good guideline.
I fear my range has been closer to my button range which is getting me in pots were I'm out of position far too often.
KJ+ cant go far wrong, heck I'd be tightening up loads but meh I cant see KT OOP being hugely EV.

IF its a loose passive bb then i would raise with a wide range of cards and then try him on the flop no matter what but if he is loose aggressive then i would raise with group 1 and 2 skylansky
