How much do you change your opening ranges readless from 100bb to 200bb in a table with mostly 100bb stacks but also some deep stacks?

your opening range really shouldnt differ much whether you have 100 bb's or 200 bb's. It should be based more off of your table image and the rest of the table (loose, passive) rather than your stack size. At a table full of maniacs that are opening 5x every hand, i would tighten up my opening range considerably. You're going to get called so often that you only want to be opening on the stronger end of your range. If you're at a table full of weak tight players that call raises and then check/fold flop when they miss, then I would widen my opening range a little because you can exploit them by opening more often and then c-betting the flop against those players that play fit or fold.

Without any reads on opponents position is vital, you can open up your range from late positions and call with hands that play well multiway hoping to hit a big score, set-mining is also gonna be a good idea for obvious implied odds. I'd stick with a tight range from early positions until you have more info on the table.

Play tight in early position, and try to see a bunch of cheap flops from late position with implied odds hands since the chances of 3-bet or raise at that point are much lower. (I'm assuming live play where open limit a fair amount of the time).

Suited 1 gappers, 2 gappers, and small pocket pairs go up in value when people are sitting 200BB, since you can flop a concealed monster, or big combo draw. That being said, do not be carried away. Get in there cheap, and preferably a hand that is multi-way with a tight raiser.

Basically assuming a 3x or 4x BB raise, you're investing 3%-4% of your stack or 1% in a limped pot, in order to stack your opponent in a cooler situation or when they cannot fold AA or KK post flop. (Happens more in live play)

Situations below are some good examples.

Flop
Jc 9s 7d

You hold Td8d
Villain raised with JdJs

hard for villain to get away from top set.

Flop
2c 4c Ah

You hold 3c5c
Villain raised AdAs

Flop
Ah Kc 2s

You hold 2c2d
Villain raised AsKs

Once again the key is position, multi-way action, and seeing cheap flops with big implied odds hand. Flop the something nuttish or GTFO.

I know my game is very flawed, so when I'm deep in cash games, I generally play tighter, but more aggressive. I know people tend to trap deep stacks, so I really try to put myself on +++EV situations. That's because I usually make much bigger mistakes/lose focus when I'm deep than when I'm 100 bb deep. So until I not solve my game flaws, that's the strategy I'm going.

That means premium hands on early spots + speculative hands on CO/button. Generally stay away from KT-K8 or A8-A2 type of hands, unless they are suited.

Hi Milesaway. I would suggest that you have the wrong idea here. I would not play any looser, (playing as many hands as poss), even if you have a lot of BB's/ stack. Otherwise, I feel you might get yourself into a bad habit and play too loose when you don't have a large stack. Gl in the future :D:D:D
