Any suggestions of strategies for minimum money no limit internet cash games? I'm having a nightmare. I'm fairly aggressive as a player but my bluffing seems to be back firing big time. Don't have the patience to play really tight!:egg:

Impatient poker players are broke poker players. In micro games there is no real point in bluffing. Again DON'T bluff! If you want to test your skills you must build your bankroll till you can play the limits where the better players are.

I hate to disagree, but only playing the hands where you think you are the favorite to win will decrease your bankroll really fast. At the super micro limits like .02/.05 you may not be able to bluff, but even at the .10/.20 tables bluffing is a very effective strategy. I agree that you shouldnt bluff until you find a great opportunity and know what youre doing, but eliminating it completely will really hurt your bankroll. I am only speaking from my personal experiences as I play .10/.20 tables very often, but it works pretty well for me. (Which site you're playing on could also effect this I guess, as players on some sites value their money more than others)

Depends on the table. If you're at a loose table with calling stations abound (probably 95% of micro tables fall under this category), bluffing in most cases is silly as someone will probably call you down with King high. If you're at a tight table or in a pot with a tight player who you don't think was helped by a flop, by all means go for it.

Bear in mind you don't want to be at the tight tables though, as it's easier to win at the looser ones. Unlike tournaments there's no pressure from escalating blinds in cash games, so you can sit and wait for a hand to play rather than being forced into action.
I think it's Harrington (among others, probably) who said most of the time your winnings/losses from a session are going to consist mainly of one or two huge pots, so wait for the cards and let your opponents (hopefully) call their way into oblivion. :)

Edit: If patience is a problem for you play 6-max or heads up games, or better yet work on it so it's not a problem. :p

Just play straight up ABC Poker at the nano-limits (.02/.04 or .01/.02 or whatever).

On a sidenote...micro-limits really only apply to .05/.10 at the lowest (usually .25/.50 to 2/4).

It's also just going to take a lot of practice. For a long time I was in the same position with my bluffing never working out for me. I've still been playing for only about 7-8 months online seriously (everyday) but I've gained ALOT of knowledge and my bluffing is usually very solid. I don't know what I did to make it better, and I don't know when it got better, it's just a natural progression you're going to have to make your way through. Patience is the key in poker! :)

Also, tighten up your starting hands for NL if youre not quite good at bluffing yet, that way you can atleast make hands more often.

When i'm playing low limit i write "DON'T BLUFF" in big letters as a reminder!(usually after someone has called my bluff with bottom pair).

how it going, i've realized that the only time bluffing really works is when you have only one to two add'l people in the pot and your chip lead is fairly substancial. People check or even call with crap hands in internet poker. Until the blinds are higher, people will call you or go all in with you all the time.

Until the blinds are larger...people will call with crap hands, which is not good if you are bluffing,

Patience, patience and more patience's ! I feel that's the answer(my own). I want to stay and play not just go all in or raising sky high, when you have nothing but guts to back you up. To me your not learning a lot but ruining your outlook on poker. That doesn't make you a poker player to me just a PLAYER! My Own Views!

I think you need to move up limits a bit, nothing too drastic. Bluffing on nano-micro tables is useless because the players there will not let go of a good hand and will play drawing hands to the end. Expect your AK/QQ to be beaten by a player with any 2 suited cards who caught a lucky flush.

OH MY Crip! Playing cards only when you feel you are favorite is at the core of becoming a good poker player! Sure there are situations where you should play hands preflop when you are probably behind, drawing hands in multi-way pots, but in order to be a long term successful poker player you MUST play the vast majority of your hands when you are a favorite. You might have some short term success playing from behind and hoping to hit monsters but long term it WILL catch upto you and your bankroll will be smoked!
