Online heads up cash compared to SNG

Hi guys

I'm a micro/low stakes SNG grinder. I've got a fairly decent win rate and I've not been in many situations where I've felt up against it post flop.

The only real issue I have is that there's a ton of aggro maniacs and pre flop 'chart' players who will only play 3-bet or fold, which can make for some swingy results. Also the increasing blinds can be frustrating as you can play well and end up losing regardless if you take a cooler (I'm playing turbo speed)

So I'm thinking about playing cash as I'm for sure more of a post flop player and the idea of just playing poker without having to worry about the blinds and aggro nutcases sounds way more enjoyable.

I'm just not sure what the skill level is in comparison and how to bankroll manage. I was watching a deuces cracked video from around 2009 where someone was playing 0.5/1 and the players were truly awful but I imagine it's not like that now.

Also would appreciate any advice for the best sites, I'm currently on pokerstars

Cheers

HU Cash is almost dead.

Didn't Pokerstars change from regular HU-tables to only HU-Zoom in 2016?
HU-Zoom- pool is pretty small so probably most regs.

If you can play on some site that still allows you to sit and wait on several tables for some drunk or bad player and sit- out against regs, I think that is the easiest way to earn money in HU-cash.

But to be honest it is often better to play 6- or 9-handed cash or tournaments for money since you can multi-table a lot easier.

HU is also easier to solve for bots/AI and in HU-SnG most players today also have memorized charts for the endgame then the blinds are big.

At the lowest levels I still see some very bad players but at 100NL as in your old instruction video-example the traffic is low and most players good.

888poker and some European and maybe even Asian sites are still much better than Pokerstars.

Thanks for the response, appreciate the info! Yep it seems PokerStars are all zoom, but the player pools are quite small from what I can see so I don't think the edges would be ridiculously difficult so I might give it a go. Will probably drop down to reg speed HUSNG as that seems a good balance between the two

If you can play on some site that still allows you to sit and wait on several tables for some drunk or bad player and sit- out against regs, I think that is the easiest way to earn money in HU-cash.

Realistically this is also why, PokerStars changed HU cash to Zoom, and why it is dying in general. Its simply to much of a bum hunters haven. New players dont last long enough, and the poker site earn to little rake, when regs can avoid each other completely.

HU is also easier to solve for bots/AI and in HU-SnG most players today also have memorized charts for the endgame then the blinds are big.

This is another big issue, and one has to wonder, if those "agro maniacs", who play only 3-bet or fold preflop, are even humans. I will say, its a distrinct possibility, OP is sitting and playing against bots most of the time.
